J-Serve is the annual day of service for Jewish youth throughout the world. It is a day on which Jewish teens join their counterparts in other faith communities, other cities and other countries in giving of their time to serve the communities in which they live.

This year we will be working with Motor City Blight Busters Organization (www.blightbusters.org ). We will start the day together at Adat Shalom Synagogue at 11:30am. Participants will enjoy lunch and a brief activity. After lunch everyone will head to the Blight Busters headquarters. At this point everyone will be broken down into groups to work on different activities ranging from demo work to painting and landscaping. The day will conclude around 5:00pm back at Adat Shalom in Farmington Hills.

Come choose from over 20 service projects in MetroWest. Among the choices are: river cleanup, spring planting, visiting the elderly, sending letters and care packages to lone soldiers, voter registration and volunteering at the zoo. We will start the day together at 9:30AM at The Aidekman Family Campus on 901 Route 10, Whippany, NJ. Then volunteers will head out to do their projects in over 15 different locations. The day will conclude at about 2:00PM back in Whippany. Bring your friends, bring your family and bring a bagged lunch!

Senior Prom, a project of J-Serve 2008, is a program that aims to bridge the gap between generations, create conversation and have fun! Tidewater Jewish Teens will be working with the Beth Sholom Home, a Jewish nursing, assisted living, and residental facility, to create an environment of casual music, art, games, and more.
